Newnes probably reprinted for several years from an unchanged textblock. The copy shown is first issue as William - The Rebel (second edition), which was published in October 1933, is the last Crompton title listed in the blurb on rear panel.

The dustjacket was illustrated by Thomas Henry in the familiar Just William format. The text is unillustrated.
